The men's golf team traveled south Monday for the Puerto Rico Classic and took last of 15 teams. The poor finish was not necessarily indicative of things to come for Duke, since much of the team did not make the trip.
The Blue Devils' highest finisher in the tournament was sophomore Jim Donnelly, who tied for 46th.
Duke started out the tournament on a slightly higher note, as it came in 11th of 15 teams in the first round Monday. Later that day, however, it added 20 strokes to fall to last place with a score of 624-48 strokes behind N.C. State's even-par 576.
For their next tournament, the Blue Devils will again head south for the Matlock Collegiate Classic in Florida on March 6-8.
