The game on the court won't count in the standings, but the action off of it will go a long way towards determining the men's basketball team's future.
The Blue Devils will host two of the top rated high school seniors this weekend, 6-foot-10 center/forward Chris Burgess from Irvine, Ca., and 6-foot-2 guard William Avery, who is spending his senior season at Oak Hill Academy.
Both players are ranked among the top 25 in the country and are expected to make their decision on which college they will attend before the early signing period for high school seniors.
Avery is still considering Duke, Kentucky and Georgia. But it is believed that the Blue Devils and Kentucky are the clear favorites.
Burgess, meanwhile, has five schools still on his official list: Duke, Brigham Young, Kentucky, UCLA and Kansas. He made an official visit to Kentucky two weeks ago along with Avery and a number of other potential Wildcat recruits. He will visit UCLA next weekend.
The Blue Devils already have one commitment, 6-foot-8 Shane Battier from Birmingham, Mich., who committed to Duke on Oct. 21.
