Restaurants promote spirit of season

As we approach Thanksgiving and the holiday season, I hope all members of the University community will take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to support those in our community who need our help. Today a number of fine restaurants in the Durham area have agreed to donate 10 percent of their gross receipts to St. Philip's Community Kitchen, the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service and the Food Bank of North Carolina. All one needs to do to take part in this program-known as Restaurant Sharing Five Plus Five Percent-is to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner at any of the participating local restaurants, and the restaurants will donate 10 percent of your bill to these important service organizations. So take a break, enjoy your meal, and help fight hunger.
