#1-Any students who did not get into the game had not lined up until 6 pm. I think it is unrealistic to expect to get in if you line up for the season opener 60 minutes before tip off.

#2- I would not worry about those freshman. Last night there was Freshman night and almost 700 wrist bans were given out to them in advance so they could get into last night's game. If you happened to see the game it was obvious they could have come in at HALFTIME! They took the bands, but never came.

#3. Tonight's game starts at 6pm. We'll see how many people get turned away. My guess is not one. You can't complain about trying to fill the stands by having a Greek night when NOT having a Greek night leaves the stands wide open. If this problem can't be resolved I bet those empty spots start being sold. That would be such a shame. Once Duke student's graduate, they'd die for a ticket.

I thought the writer made it clear that he wasn't against promotions such as senior night. The point was that the athletic department can't make claims that you can always walk into basketball games, and then have promotions which cause hundreds of people to miss out. He's calling for a better representation of whats actually happening in K-ville rather than bashing the actual promotion.....

This is the sort of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put.

Face it: you can't have these games filled without some students getting turned away. That is the nature of the beast. If the game wasn't filled none would be turned away. You can't have it both ways. They are aiming to fill Cameron a-la ACC games. You'd get turned away from Duke-Maryland/Wake/State 60 mins before tip-off.

You should be glad these ideas are filling up Cameron so the athletics dept. doesn't sell them.

If you waited only 60 minutes I have no sympathy for you. You should've known you'd have to wait longer because it's Greek Night, it's Friday, and it's opening night for the season.

You lost. Greek Night was a success. Coach K said so himself. Don't complain that you didn't get in. Plus, don't you get a media pass since you're in the Chronicle?
