I'm not going to knock HLM Zach White for changing the rules for tenting. After four years of top-10 tenting, I agree that there were definitely some changes that needed to be made. However, simply changing the tenting requirements is not going to get more undergrads to games against anyone other than big-time ACC opponents. The fact that students only got turned away from Davidson on the first day of spring semester classes is frankly pathetic. Clearly the days of people sleeping on the sidewalk in line on 19 degree nights as part of a line stretching into the BLUE ZONE for an ACC game are gone. And as a Duke almunus and lifelong fan, it makes me sad that that kind of passion is increasingly looking like it's gone for good.

Come up with a plan that gets people excited and fills the stands when classes are in session. Being a passionate fan and excelling in the classroom are not mutually exclusive - you can be a top-5 tent, get in line ridiculously early for and attend every game over the course of a basketball season and still keep a 4.0 GPA - trust me. You just have to want it bad enough and yes, maybe sacrifice one night of going out and getting drunk during the week to get it (the horror!!). Current undergrads just don't get that and White needs to bring that back. Otherwise, Cameron will continue down its sad slide to mediocrity.
