Duke University Police Department has released sketches of the two suspects in Friday morning's armed robbery near the 301 Swift Ave. apartments.
Along with the sketches, more detailed descriptions of the suspects—one of whom had a handgun—were released. After demanding money, the suspects drove toward N.C. Highway 147 in a gold-colored car.
The description of the first suspect is " a male in his late 20s or early 30s with a very dark, almost black complexion. He has dark hair and stands between 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 145 pounds. The man, who was holding the gun, also appeared to be right handed."
The second suspect is described as "a bald male about 20 to 25 years with a dark brown complexion. He stands about between 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds."
A DUPD representative said Friday that the victim of the armed robbery was not a Duke student or employee, and confirmed that the victim was unhurt. ABC11's Derek Rowles also reported that police think that the robbery could be connected to others on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
A DukeAlert was sent to students, faculty and staff early Friday morning following the armed robbery. After the first armed robbery on campus in more than a year occurred in February, Friday's was the second in less than six months.
Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to contact DUPD.
